Build a Caring Career as a PN

Career training for Practical Nursing in Aurora.

For those who have a passion for taking care of others, a career as a practical nurse (PN) can let you leverage your strengths into a sustainable future. PNs serve as vital members of a healthcare team, trained to provide basic patient care and serve as an advocate and point of contact between patients and other medical providers. PNs monitor vital signs, change bandages, help with bathing and dressing, report status and concerns to supervising medical staff, document patient care, and maintain health records. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects an average of 54,000 openings for practical nurses each year through 2033.

Casa Loma College in Aurora, CO, offers a Practical Nurse (PN) certificate program that can prepare you to be a part of this growing field in just 12 months.

The PN training at Casa Loma College blends both in-class and online courses with labs and practical experience, covering topics like:

  • Anatomy and Physiology for Practical Nurses
  • Introduction to Practical Nursing
  • Practical Nursing Skills
  • Health Assessment
  • Medical Surgical Nursing
  • Pharmacology
  • Mental Health Nursing
  • Parent Child Nursing
  • Practical Nursing Capstone
  • NCLEX-PN Success

Our curriculum builds a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, focusing on the history and role of the practical nurse, the importance of the clinical problem-solving process, how to recognize and treat patient needs, and how to make evidence-based clinical judgments.

The program is designed to ready you to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN).

Successful graduates who have received their PN license are qualified for entry-level jobs at a wide array of healthcare facilities, including nursing and residential care, hospitals, home healthcare services, physicians’ offices, clinics, and urgent care facilities.
